Artist Statement:

I went to the Mekong Delta a few times during school. Its beauty is simply enchanting. Today I want to show you some of the paintings I made during my time in Sông Đốc town, Cà Mau province. In Vietnam, we consider this place the “southern tail” of the country. Most people there earn their living as fishermen. Locals are always so friendly and kind.

Life has given me opportunity to visit many places and meet many people – the good, the bad, the rich, the poor – staying with them, sharing life with them. Some are physical encounters while others occur in dreams. Some will happen just once in my life. I paint to remember them all.

Art is limited and I am only human. I can even make mistakes when transferring an idea to canvas. They just make things more interesting!
