Floral Impressions (part1)

Flowers and the female form remain evergreen subjects for many artists, including myself. Captivated in front of the limitlessness of female beauty, I also fall madly in love with each colorful, fresh flower I see -- each flower, each shade, each characterized contour! Despite conversing with my brush for quite a few years, flowers have yet to bore me. Some I construct in dots; some I paint using fine lines, and others I do in bold streaks of color. Whether in water color, oil, gouache, or even Chinese style, I play with different inspirations and materials. My flowers carry extremes of great happiness and sadness, and sometimes a bit of gentle romance, but these are no less intense…

Hoa và phụ nữ luôn là đề tài muôn thủa của các họa sĩ từ bao đời nay. Tôi cũng không ngoại lệ. Đắm say trước vẻ đẹp vô bờ bến của người phụ nữ, tôi cũng yêu ngây dại nét tươi thắm của các loài hoa. Mỗi loài hoa mỗi sắc thái, mỗi nét đặc trưng rất riêng. Tôi đã vẽ hoa từ lúc mới tập tễnh cầm cọ cho tới hôm nay vẫn không cảm thấy chán chường với hoa. Hoa đối với tôi khi là chấm, khi là nét, khi là mảng miếng màu sắc. Tôi đã sử dụng nhiều chất liệu như màu nước, sơn dầu, màu bột, mực nho để thể hiện Hoa. Hoa trong mắt tôi khi vui khi buồn, nhẹ nhàng lãng mạn nhưng cũng không kém phần mãnh liệt…

Back to the village III ( Về với làng quê III )

After spending 30 days in Duong Lam village in 2006, the following year I spent over 10 days in another village called Cu Da.The scenery was similar, but more modern than that in Duong Lam Village.


Sau khi trải qua 30 ngày thú vị ở làng cổ Đường Lâm vào năm 2006, tôi lại có một chuỗi hơn 10 ngày thích thú tại một làng quê khác vào năm tiếp theo, đó là làng cổ Cự Đà. Phong cảnh cũng gần như nhau, nhưng kiến trúc của Cự Đà có phần hiện đại hơn đôi chút.

My First Exhibitions in the USA

I have been in the United State more than 10 months now. After going through some difficult challenges that a young and obscure artist in a foreign country is usually bound to face, I have finally found this moment to bring my paintings to the American audience.

My first U.S. exhibition was throughthe Eastside Association of Fine Arts Public Art Program – NguyễnLýPhươngNgọc, Deborah Frengand Jo Moniz from 01/15-04/15/2012 at OVERLAKE HOSPITAL CONFERENCE CENTER, Bellevue, Washington, USA.

Shortly thereafter, I was part of the Lunar New Year Exhibition of theEast Asia Library at the University of Washington, Seattle, Washington,USA.

My latest exhibition shows some of my newest paintings at Boom Noodle in Capitol Hill, downtown Seattle. Eleven of my paintings of variety sizes are there in a really warm, ambient setting.The public can enjoy my artworks here from 03/13-04/13/2012.

You can definitely say that any original disappointment I had is gone, replaced with the happiness of finding my works a few good homes open to the public eye.

Những triển lãm đầu tiên ở Mỹ.

Tôi đến xứ sở cờ hoa đã được hơn 10 tháng. Sau bao nhiêu khó khăn thử thách bước đầu đối với người họa sĩ trẻ vô danh nơi đất khách thì tôi cũng đã tìm được những cơ hội quí giá đầu tiên để đem tranh mình đến với công chúng.

Triển lãm đầu tiên của tôi là triển lãm nhóm chung với các họa sĩ trong EAFA : Nguyễn Lý Phương Ngọc, Deborah Freng và Jo Moniz từ 15/01-15/04/2012 tại OVERLAKE HOSPITAL CONFERENCE CENTER, Bellevue, Washington USA.

Sau đó là triển lãm mùa xuân tại thư viện Đông Á trường Đại học Washington, Seattle  tiểu bang Washington, tranh quốc họa Trung Quốc từ 12/2- hết tháng 4/2012.

Gần nhất là triển lãm loạt tranh mới nhất tại Boom Noodle ở Capitol Hill- trung tâm Seattle, tiểu bang Washington. Với 11 bức lớn nhỏ được treo rải rác xung quanh không gian ấm cúng của nhà hàng, công chúng có thể thưởng thức các tác phẩm của tôi mỗi ngày từ 13/03-13/04/2012.

Những thất vọng đã được đẩy lùi, nhường chỗ cho sự vui mừng hạnh phúc khi tranh của tôi dần được chấp nhận trong mắt công chúng.
